I'm looking at these too and they "read" like they're good tires, but I haven't heard of anyone actually running them yet. I like the looks too. Let us all know how you like them.

I'm buying some for my FM5's next month, let us know how you like them. I haven't decided whether to go with 275/35 or 275/40 in the front.

They are cheaper than Invo's too.

The NT05's are just about the best traction tires on the market without going with a full blown race/drag/track tire... not as quiet as the Invo's, but a little better traction.

If anyone needs them, feel free to PM me for a quote.

The Nitto Site Markets these as a Drag tire .... Are people using them as a Road Course tire? I would think a drag tire should have weaker sidewalls allowing it to plant more during launch... where a Road Course / Street tire would have stiffer side walls...

They make a NT05 (which is under "Street" Tires on Nitto's site > see here: http://nittotire.com/#index.tire.nt05) and an NT05R which is a drag radial > see here: http://nittotire.com/#index.tire.nt05r --- Which one are you referring to?? I thought the thread was about NT05's?

As Corvette-Wheels says above, don't confuse the NT05's with the NT05R's.
----> I just put the NT05's on my Z and although I haven't had a chance to put many miles on them I think they're great. Definitely quieter / less harsh than the GY's and they seem to stick tenaciously. They are 200 tread wear rated so they are softer then the GY's but not so soft that they will wear out easily. I found several reviews on these tires and people even liked them in the wet.
One caveat, these tires are "W" speed rated, so I can't go over 168 mph in the school zones anymore. I'm trying to think other than a long straight big track where would I get to that speed anyway?
---> I give these tires a

Default NT05 tires for the C6 Z

FYI ------->
I forgot to mention the Nitto NT05's come in the correct front size for the C6 Z06 but the rears are 335's not 325's. I picked up the following info off the various web sites showing the size, rim, treadwear rating, height and revolutions/mile. No DIC codes or anything so far since the ratio between the front and rear isn't off by much.
For reference the numbers in the (xxx-xxx) are Nitto's stock numbers for the NT05's in those sizes.

Just thought it might help.

Goodyear F1 SC EMT RF 325/30 19 220 26.7 783
Goodyear F1 SC EMT RF 275/35 18 220 25.6 816

Nitto NT05 (207-180) 335/30 19 200 26.89 773
Nitto NT05 (207-020) 275/35 18 200 25.63 811

I just got a set of NT05s last week 285F 335R - the difference from the Goodyear RFTs are UNBELIEVABLE. The traction is awesome, and they are SO DAMN quiet too!! WOW!

I see you went with the 285 fronts which are 25.91" dia, 802 revs/mile and about .5" overall wider. I ended up picking the 275/35 only because the recommemded optimum rim is suggested as 9.5" width for them, same as the stock wheel, whereas the 285/35's show a 10" rim width optimum. Have you had any DIC codes due to the marginal size difference? It's nice that they have a couple of close to stock sizes to choose from since I believe there are a lot of 18 x 10 rims available.
Check back occasionally and gave us an update on your experience with these tires.
Thanks.

I picked these up this winter too. Waiting for snow to go away before I can drive them. Went with 275/35/18 & 295/35/18's.

exactly what i want to know. Seems people are all over the map with different size combos on this tire. I'm torn between 275/35 or 285/35 for the front, and i guess i'm stuck with 335/30 rear.

Either will work just fine, however front to rear difference ratio's are closer to stock with the 285 fronts

Based on what Corvette Wheels stated either front size should be OK. The only reason I picked the 275 fronts was the Nitto Web site shows a recommemded rim width of 9.5 inches for the 275's and a 10.0 inch for the 285's. I haven't be able to work in much road time but I have'nt had any DIC codes appear and wouldn't expect any as either size front tire is very close to the Goodyears. But I'm all ears on this one.

I have been looking at these very closely, trying to find more reviews as my only issue was how loud they are, other than that I know I would love them, glad to see they are not that loud

Thanks!

I got the Nt05's today (2009 Z06). I went with the 285/35/18 up front and the 335/30/19 in the rear. While I don't have many miles on them yet, so far, so good. The person on the other end of the car's bluetooth could actually understand me and I could hear them perfectly. They are much more quiet than the Goodyears. I was slipping and sliding this morning on the highway with they Goodyears but on the way home after the tires were installed, I wasn't changing lanes on accident when I floored it. They look mean too! I paid $1,349.00 out the door at discount tire. This included mounting, balancing and full warranty.
