So based on my search both on here & on tire suppliers websites it appears the MX is on it's way out & is already seemingly gone in the 295-35-18 size. Looks like this has been the case for awhile now & I'm just catching up to the news. Problem is I really liked that tire & would like to get another set. So since that is no longer a reality what would be a very comparable tire in every aspect: price, performance, road noise etc...? The worst part is my fronts are worn out (neg camber) but the rears are still good for a little while longer. I wanted to get new fronts which it looks like I still can 265-35-18 but of course won't be able to get matching rears when they wear out on the back. Any ideas on a comparable tire to the MX. I mainly use the car for dry weather summer drives with lots of spirited driving but no tracks, roadcourses or competition racing. My dad & I both are in the market for non runflat tires & were both going towards the MX & were both discouraged when we realized we can't get them. He has the same driving type as I do: spirited driving w/ no track use.
Dad's car: 04 coupe (stock sizes)
My car: 01 zo6 ( aftermarket wheels) Fr. 265-35-18 Rear 295-35-18
Thanks for the input

Based on my research, the Nitto NT05 is comparable to the Kumho Ecsta MX. I have NT05's right now and love them (275/40-17 fronts and 295/35-18 rears on stock wheels) but was thinking about trying the MX KU15 next time around just for the sake of trying something different. If they're indeed on their way out then I guess I'll just stick with the Nitto's (no complaints here!).
I would say the Nitto NT05 is close to being a Race Tire, and probably wouldn't last all that long. It's rougher riding and louder than the Nitto Invo, for instance. I just replaced my Kumho Mx a few weeks ago... '86-Z51 (very stiff suspention) w/ repop Z06 wheels. I had them 7 years and quite a few miles. They were slippery, harsh riding and loud. I replaced them with Continental DW (265/40/17-295/35/18). They give a very smooth ride, and are very quiet. They seem to bite well too. I'm very pleased with them thus far.
