C4 Tire Size

I have a set of OEM 1990 Corvette rims 17"x9.5", and the original tire size was P275/40/ZR-17. My question is can I put a set of P285/40/ZR-17 tires on them? I know the 285 is a different tread width, but can they be put on the OEM rims? Thanks!!

Yes, I run 285 40r 17's on my 9.5 rims. They are on the front end on a 94 coupe.

What size do you have on the rear?

I run Kumho 335 40R 17"s in the rear. They do stick out from the fender about 3/4 of an inch, that measurement is looking down at the top of the fender.

I run 335 35r 17 Kumhos on the rear. They stick out of the fender well about 3/4 of an inch looking down on top of the fender.
