Default Best tires street and road course

What is the best tire for driving to the track and on the track, especially for cornering. 285/40/17's on front and 315/35/17's on rear?
Thanks,
Steve

BFG g-force KD's are very good compromize tires (street/track). I've only had troubles on the street in standing water (light rain is no problem). They stick very well on the track and are very manageable (easy to tell when they're getting ready to break loose). However, they're still not a slick, so you won't be able to keep up with the guys on slicks or DOT race tires.
Yokohama also sells a nice street/track tire (I think it's the A032, but not certain -- Tire rack lists them). They don't make 18"s so I haven't tried them, but I've heard good things about them.
