Default How much tire diameter change can you make w/o sensor problems?

I think that the diameters for C5 stock is 25.6/26.7. Can I go smaller or larger by an inch? I'm looking for a good dry weather tire with maybe some autocross now and then. What rim size/tires would you suggest thinking of looks and dry performance?

My Yoko AVS 315x35x17 rears have screwed up my sensor readings as did my BFG drag radials 315x35x17. PITA
