Ok, I my engine will be done this week, and with all that extra power, I'm sure I'm going to be roasting the rest of the tires pretty quickly once I have it back.
I currently have Pirelli P7000's and I haven't been too impressed with their hydro resistance. Dry traction isn't TOO bad, but it's nothing like the G-force TA KD's that I had before.
I was thinking about getting the G-force KDW's but they don't make them in 315 any more. I looked on tire-rack's website and there are only 6 street 315 tires.... I was hoping to find a decent set for $400 or so with good wet traction and good hydro resistance.
So, I don't have $ to get the Pilot GSC's which would be around $650 or more shipped... and would prefer to spend around $400. Recommendations?
 And I know your in Texas so that lets me know how much rain you get into like I do... hehe. How's the tread on them? Lasts well ... and the dry traction? pretty good?
Rain  What is that  The tread seems to last better than usual and the grip is also above par. In my opinion they are a great buy for the $$$ and they work well for me. I hope, if you do go with them, that your experience is as good as mine. :yesnod: Take care and good luck on your choice :seeya

 sounds good. If I can get one more person to say to go with them, I definitely will... thanks!
BTW, these rears just need to last until I get a whole new set... my fronts are in near perfect condition.. so who knows how long that will be.
I would use what you have until you get the cash to get a set of Michelin Pilot Sports. I drove with them on the track for a weekend in the rain. They were just great. My car has lots of HP and in the rain I need grip. Figure that the few extra bucks can help keep you on the road and out of trouble. [IMG][/IMG]
I bought them used with 8k miles on them. The front are still very good, and the rears are not so good. I guess that shows my heavy foot ;). They have 5k miles on them from me... so 13k total right now. I think my rear alignment is out though, causing the premature wear... i'm going to have that checked out before i get a new set.
Glock......I also run the Sumitomo HTRZ 315 on the rear of my 92 and even though I can't speak for wet traction (I only drive on beautiful sunny days), let me say they can handle a 30mph cloverleaf exit ramp at 60mph without losing grip......what-a-ride!!!!!....they also deliver a smooth/quiet ride and were priced very good at TireRack......good luck!!
I also have the Pirelli P7000 tires on my 93'. Purchased them new. While I don't normally drive my car in the rain I do live in Florida! I have been caught in several rain storms and I think that the Pirelli's handle wonderful in the water, at least I have never felt afraid. Maybe you need to have your rear suspension looked at. I also have 10,000 miles on this set and they are really wearing well. In my opinion they handle better than the Michelin's. Don't know much about the HTRZ's. I guess whatever you decide it's better than the Goodyear GS-C's!
