Default TPMS keep or buy aftermarket

i sold my set of 4 02 C5 wheels/tires - i was planning on taking my TPS out of my wheels but the guy who bought them maybe interested in leaving the stock GM sensors and buying me all 4 new sensors to go into my C6 wheels.

My question is, Do you guys know where i can get replacement sensors that work with my OEM computer etc.

Thanks!

I'm not quite clear about what you're trying to do.

It sounds like you want to take sensors out of C5 wheels and put them in wheels that will go on a C6.

If that's what you're trying to do, it won't work. The C5 uses 2 different sensors (depending on model year), and the C6 uses an entirely different sensor than either C5 sensor.

If that's what you're talking about, you'll definitely need new sensors, because the C5 and C6 use different sensors.

There are essentially no after market sensors for any vehicles. Pretty much all the GM vehicles use sensors made by Schrader. You can get Schrader sensors through your local GM/Chevy dealership parts department, or you can get them from a Schrader distributor.

The GM Part# for C6 sensors is 25758220. If you can find them from a Schrader distributor you'll get Schrader Part# 20076 (or SB20076).

My recommendation is to get them from forum vendor Gene Culley. His website is:

http://gmpartshouse.com

Here's info from the website:
||--Tire Pressure Sensors--||

25758220 – Tire pressure sensor – 54.11 each
15234846 – Tire pressure sensor nut – 3.52 each

Total set of 4 nuts and 4 sensors 230.52

Also, I guess you know that in order to register the sensors on your C6 you'll need a tool that transmits a radio frequency to trigger the sensors - you can't use a magnet like you did with C5 sensors.

Oh......and I guess you've got an '02 C5. In that case:
||--Genuine GM Tire Pressure Sensors/TPM--||

2001-2004 Sensors

25773946 - sensor – 38.41 each
15234846 - nuts – 3.52 each

Total setup of 4 is 183.99 shipped!
Definitely let the other guy have the old sensors and get new ones for your new wheels. The internal batteries have a design life of 7 to 10 years, so you definitely should get new ones.

awesome! I think i'll take your advice and get new sensors, these are GM?? i mean not some knock off's?

Do i just need senosrs and nuts or do i need the washers, pressure sensor caps, and pressure sensor nuts also?

Basically, i'm needing all the parts to mount these in my wheels.

There really are no knock offs. Schrader makes our sensors. The only ones sold by Gene Culley on his gmpartshouse website are official GM parts.

The sensors come with the grommets, a valve stem core, and a valve stem cap, but not the retaining nut. You'll have to order 2 part #'s: the sensors, and the nuts.
