Default Need wheel-buying tips, please

OK guys, I'm only planning to do this once, so help me not mess it up. I can't really afford the high dollar stuff like CCWs or HREs, and I have fairly new Michelins that I want to use, so I'm stuck with the stock C5 sizes. I've settled on chrome, since I think it would look the best with my 50th AE, but if I buy reproductions, will I really notice the extra weight in normal driving? What are other things to watch out for? Anything in particular to stay away from? There's enough choices out there to get really confused over, or should I just pick the cheapest thing I like the looks of?

Don't pick the cheapest thing you can find, as your life is depending on them. Having said that, if you want chrome, you'll either be looking at used OEM wheels or aftermarket/repos.

There are a number of instances of cracked spokes on the "thin spoke" C-5 wheels, so be careful! Maybe, you'll want to take a look at the Cray wheels....

I like those Crays, but the rears only come in 18X10.5, an inch wider than my stock wheels. Since I'm using my runflats, I worry about that extra inch. The fronts are only in 17X9, a half inch wider, but that might not be a problem. A lot of folks are running those replica C6Z06 wheels, any good reasons to not buy them?
