Can I make this work?

I got what I think is a great deal on a set of flawless '01 Z06 wheels...but my tires are 245/45-17 and 275/40-18. The Z06 wheels are wider. I wasn't planning on buying new tires because I have a set of Goodyear GS-D3's that only have ~2000 miles on them.According to the specs on tirerack the rear tires fall in the range for the wheel width but the fronts come up short by .5 inches. Can this work? I know it isn't the best option but I wasn't ready to hassle with selling used tires, buying new ones ect...
