Default 2001 factory thin spokes forged or ?

Are the 01 c5 stock thin spokes forged there seems to be a conflict on that issue. Of the ones cracking are they the cast or the forged wheel?
I'm looking for a set of FACTORY c6 split spoke chromes if not I can have Eric Vaghun widen the stockers I want to put a least a 305 wide tire on my ride but I'd hate to spend 600+ $ on a wheel that is prone to cracking
any help or sug.. welcomed

The 2000-2004 polished thin spokes that were supplied by GM on the factory cars were forged.

The aftermarket ones being sold today as GM are made by Speedline and are cast. Speedline did not make the polished thin spokes for GM during the period 2000-2004.

Speedlilne is now making wheels for GM, they are cast, and I believe they started around the 2007 model.

Interesting! Do you know who did make the polished thin spokes for GM?
Are they identified in any way? Thanks,
Nick

From looking at back posts in the C5 For Sale area I have learned that, for the GM painted thin spokes; the 2000 wheels were made by Alcoa and are forged and the 2001-2004 were made by Speedline and are spun cast.

As bob posted earlier the GM polished thin spokes for 2000-2004 are forged and made by Alcoa.

For the Z06, the 2001 wheels were made by Alcoa and are forged. 2002-2004 wheels were made by Speedline and are spun cast. All factory Z06 wheels were painted.

That's what I think I know
