Default Moving rear wheel to the front??

I have 98 C5 with aftermarket C6 (C5 size 17-18) chrome wheels on the car and I want to go bigger.

I'd like to move the rear 18" wheels to the front and buy 19x11" for the rear. Has anyone done this? Offset issues? Rubbing? What tires size would everyone recommend for the front?

I'm thinking of 305/30-19 for the rear.

Thanks in advance of everyones help

tomurphjr,

I have stock C-5 rear wheels on the front of a C-6. I do not know the width or offset of your repro's.

Stock C-5 rear are 18x9.5 with a +65mm offset.

I use those with perfect fitment on the C-6 front with 275x35x18 Michelin Pilot Sport ZP. (C-6 Z06 stock size) If your repro's are close to the stock spec for the rear C-5 listed abvove they should work for the fronts.

I checked your proposed rear size of 305x30x19.

I cannot predict the fitment but as far as the C-5 computers are concerned, 315x30x19 is closer to stock than 305. If that size fits and does not rub, it will work as far as AH, ABS, TC and speedometer.

The offset is the same as the factory C5 offset. Good to hear. I'll just move the rears to the front and get 19x11 for the rear with the 315/30-19 if there is no rubbing. Thanks for your responce Bob.

I am glad you asked this question. I have 17" & 18" C-6 wheels on my 2000 and I have been thinking about doing the same thing you inquired about. Moving my 18" rears to the front and buying (2) 19" for the rear. Please post how they worked out for you. Thanks.
