Default Need help with C6 correct wheel/DR sizes

I'm currently using 275/40-17 DR's on stock front C5 wagon wheels on my 07 Z51 C6.

I'm ready to order new DR's but want to upgrade to matching chrome C6 rims while I'm at it. I have to choose between 17's or 18's but not sure what width and offsets will work the best.

The only given is I want chrome C6 repros. What width and offsets should I be looking for in each size? Thanks.

You might go w/ 18 inch rims all around. It is probably hard to find 19" drag radials, and they'd be expensive.
You need 18" wheels in the front to clear the C6 Z51 calipers. It would probably look silly on the street to have 18's in the front and 17's in the rear.
You need at least 315 series tires to get any traction. They generally require a 10.5" (minimum) rim, and would probably work better on an 11 or 12 " rim. You'll spend some money if you really want the fronts to match the rears at the drags.

I only need rear Drag Radials and wheels. Looks aren't an issue but clearances are. I disagree with the 315 minimum because I get plenty of traction with my "tiny" 275/40-17s now. I'm just looking to get the best size since I need new rims anyway. I'm leaning towards 17's because of cost but want to know both options.

Whats the "proper" width, and offset for a set of 17" wheels, and the proper width and offset for 18" wheels on a C6 Z51? Sorry for any confusion on my part, thanks for the quick response.
