Default How remove CAKED ON Brake dust clumps -chome z06 's

Guys, I got chromed z06's from a donor car that user to road race. IT used serious F1 type pads that dusted like CRAZY. The spokes have heavy deposits if what I assume is brake dust that collected and eventually hardened.

How can I safely dissolve the junk? I don't want to tear up the chrome or scrub hard etc. If you know of 'the stuff' I need let me know.

TIA

Used Brake cleaner but this stiff is soo caked on, and I would rather dissolve than chip away the stuff.

Maybe just get BC and a tooth brush and work it in or something? I was just looking for a magic solution. Something very concentrated.

I used McGuires Chrome Wheel cleaner on a different style of chrome wheel. It worked after most everything else failed. On a side note, if you really want to get it off of wheels you are going to refinish, EZ Off oven cleaner works. I used it to strip some C3 mags.

Have you tried WD40? It's worked for me taking off rubber marbles caked on from the track days.
