Default Nittos NT01 for 1/4 track and street?

Love the looks of the NT01 but not sure if its a good drag tire. Are these tires good for heating up and lowering PSI to 20 or so? I go to 1/4 mile drag strip a few times a year and drive around 5000 miles. I realize theres the 555 drag radial which I have now. Just like the aggressive look of the NT01. I put down 365rwhp and see 1.7 60' at the track.

Bob,
I've been looking into those tires as well. They wont hook up as well at the track because they have a stiffer sidewall for road racing. But if you only visit the track once or twice a year like me then you might not even care about it.

I decided on the BFG DR's in a 315/30/18 size.

But if you get those NT-01's then let me know how you like them, I'd like to hear from someone local.

Pete

I've got a pair of NITTO NT-01 315/30/ZR18. Like new 1 track day.

asking 225 ea. At the NCCC highspeed at Roebling Road in Nov. my short times were consistantly quicker than cars in modified classes. I believe it's because of the aspect of ths sidewall 30%..

This is like having a 4.09 gear. Very quick off of the line, smooth shift to 2 hard into the and four. wind fourth more than you we able to before. Quicker and faster trap speed. Low aspect sidewall and "R" compound. Very quick.

My car is probably quicker with these tires than with my (standard size and not streetable) Mickey Thompson ET Streets

The standard 555R drag radials actually hold up for awhile in street driving, 12k miles is not hard to get. You can not drive them at all in the rain but a 555R 315 35 17 and a 275 40 17 555rII is a pretty hot combo for mixed driving. For a drag radial the tires are awful good at turning corners. Anyone else do this?
