Default Tires question...need help please.

I have a set of 305/35/18's on some rear wheels...can I run 335/30/18 instead? What is the difference?

Thanks for your help!

Plug in your #'s in this Tire Size Calculator:

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

You'll see what mixermike is talking about. It looks like the new tires would be 1/2 inch less in diameter, resulting in a few more revs per mile.

However, I don't think that is enough difference to bother your ABS or Active Handling. As you can see in the calculator results, your speedometer will be a little off.

According to the info on Tire Rack's website you should be running that 335/30-18 on a 11.5 to 12.5 inch wide wheel:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...e1=yes&place=0

So....make sure your wheels are wide enough to take the new tires.
