Luke, are you expecting the 345/30/19 Cups at the same time? And for Z06 owners what do you recommend for the fronts? I don't see a 275/35/18--looks like 265/35/18 or 285/30/18 are the only choices.

Here's an FYI on the 345's...the molds aren't even made yet let alone field testing. Projected in service timeline is next year--probably late. Per Michelin's direct info.

as Xtream said the 345's are along way off at this time and I would suggest 285/30-18 for the front to go along with the 325's in the rear
According to the Michelin web site, they are DOT approved for street use.
DOT approval just means they're legal for street use. Lots of tires are technically legal but are specifically not recommended (ET Streets, BGF drag radials, etc.) because they have virtually no grooves and if you get caught in the rain with them you're in a world of hurt. These tires aren't that bad (in fact they come on the new GT3), but I think stock they come with 6/32 tread. I think they can be grooved deeper than that though, maybe to more like 8/32 (which is what the stock Z06 GY's have).

Yeah, I agree. They might be able to be groved deeper. However, if you do get caught in rain you can ensure you won't hydro plane if you reduce your speed significantly. Doesn't matter to me though. I don't drive my car when there'e a chance of rain, so if I buy them, I won't be grooving. Different strokes for different folks.

I received/installed these tires about 2 weeks ago and I have to say, after being traction limited for over 3 years I have finally solved my issues. (700rwhp/600rwtq)
I have yet to take them into the twisties but by the way that they feel around town I have full confidence that I will be happy.

Thanks Luke.
Sounds good. Do they seem overly slick when cold? I know someone posted in another thread that they seemed really slick until they get some heat in them, but I have a hard time believing that it's too big a problem or Porsche wouldn't have put them on the GT3.

Even cold they are at least as grippy as the MPS's that they replaced. In other words I was able to light them up accidentally when cold by mistake (hard roll on) but when warm it's traction all the way. FWIW I did have them heat cycled prior to arrival. Maybe that's the difference as I have read that 'R' compounds are extremely sensative to proper break-in.

xstream1- did you get traction in 2nd gear with these
They are totally a road racing tire that has been adapted to street use.
I am expecting a maximum of 5000 miles from them barring any burnouts.
As for traction, not only do I get it in 2nd but I can hook up 1st also as long as the tires are warmed up. I have had the MPS in 345/30/19 and traction was only marginally better than the stock runflats. I then had Pirelli Corsas ('R' compound road racing tire) which were a little better but still could only hook most of 2nd on a hot day and forget about 1st. The MPS cups are just what I've been looking for. For me longevity falls a distant second to traction both around corners and from a dig.
