Default Buying new tires! Have a Q on size.

Well, I need tires really bad to say the least.
Ive made my mind on the BFG G-Force KDW-2, its the size im wondering about. I have the thin spoke rims (17x8.5 and 18x9.5) and want to go with 255/??/17 and 285/??/18.
Im looking on tire racks site and they have the following...
255/45/17 and,
285/30/18.... but if im doing my math right that would be a fair size difference in height...they also have a 295/35/18 but Is that pushing it for a 9.5 wide rim??
Or I could always go with the stock sizes which they have....245/40/17 and 275/35/18 which the ride height is really close.

Anyone have any advice for me?!
Thanks in Advance,
Clayton

The KDW-2 (AKA, KDW NT) comes in a 285/40-18 size, which is what you want. 295mm is too much for a 9.5" rim.
