lets just say if it were me and I am going to spend big$ on your product and get no response move on to the next vendor cause your money is green and a good product vendor who appreciates your integrity by wanting product info will recognize this! every response should be handled with utter urgency but maybe thats just me!
I have a set I use for racing -- I take the wheels there for resizing (I am always changing my mind as to what type of tires I will run) and they get it done the next day.
JGunn what kind of wheels and model are you running? awesome pic. Looks like some fat rubber.
I have had great luck with Forgeline customer service. Just had an outer wheel half replaced. http://www.forgeline.com/ I've worked with Mark. When I sent the wheel up, he asked "What the #%*@ happened looks like you took a can opener to it? They look brand new now.
The front wheels are 18X10 which fit perfectly. No rubbing, etc. The best tire for that wheel is probably the 285/30/18. In the back I was running an 18X11 which, again, fit perfectly for street use. However, I decided to have it made into a twelve by changing the outer rim half for one 1 inch wider. So, now the rear is an 18X12. The rear sticks out from the fender about 1/2". Also, you need to keep enough ride height in the car to prevent it from hitting the fender lip. That means you need to see about one thread on the rear ride height adjustments.
The fact that the rear sticks out a little does not bother me for track use. On the street I would probably go ahead and tub it and add the inch on the inside. You could probably run a 13" if you could take 2" out of the inner fender by tubbing (pretty sure you can). You would also be able to lower the rear more (although I do not think that helps the cars handling -- you want some rake in the car).
The wheels are Kinesis. They are in Vista, CA, which is near my home so I can try things quite easily! Talk to Allen. They are very accommodating and produce a wheel that is second to none (including HRE,etc.). I know Fikse, HRE, etc. are a pain to get to change wheel widths or repair wheels.
I am actually trying an 18X11.5 in the front this weekend at an autocross. There are clearance issues on the A-arms at high steering angles, I want to see if I get to those angles or not.
Looks like an awesome setup. 18x12 is huge under a Corvette. A local is running Kinesis and loves them.
I have had great luck with Forgeline replacing wheels halfs, and polishing out curb rash. The only wheels I would consider buying are Forgeline, Kinesis, and CCWs.
Just want to make a correction and say that Kinesis did respond to my email promptly but the mail got kicked back. Their prices are competitive and they will respond to anyone looking for prices or other info asap.
