Default need tires asap. Please offer advice!

I use my car for alot of things. Drag racing, autoX, and I will be running my first HPDE (VIR) soon. I want some tires that do everything well. I use the car often to just go cruising get groceries etc. So far I am considering Nitto 555RII in 275/40/17 and 305/35/18, Falken Azenis in 275/40/17 and 295/40/18, and Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 in 275/40/17 and 295/35/18. So far I think the Azenis is the best I can get for the money! How different is the 295/40/18 from a 295/35/18? Opinions and suggestions on these and other tires please. My car is a 2001 A4 coupe with OEM ZO6 wheels. My current tires will not pass tech inspection so I need some new ones ASAP. Thanks in advance!

I haven't tried any of those brands but have read that the 555RII's are great track tires. Not sure if you daily drive your car or not but they can be used on the street but not going to be great in the wet, what I have read. Don't know anyting about the Falken's but those sizes are not the whay I would go. You asked about tire size differences, try the calc below to see how different sizes compare;

As for the GSD3, great tire, again from what I have read but your going to have a tough time finding rears in that size. They were back ordered, maybe thats worked out now I'm not sure.

Good luck,

Darion

Default Nitto's NT-01

I just purchased a set of these and OMG!!! WOW! They look great and hook up like a big dog. I have an 04 Maggie SC Z06. I would highly recommend this tire for AutoX, off the line at the strip, or local around town driving (so as to avoid rain). I love these tires and would do it again in a heart-beat!!

I went with Falken Azenis tires, and I am happy with my choice so far.
