Is there anything better for road hugging on a stock 69 wheel than BFG T/A radials?

The 15" sizes are rather limited, in terms of "performance", now that 17"-20" wheels are the rage. Maybe a Firestone Firehawk?

I've found Cooper Cobra's to be excellent tires. When I checked for a set of tires last year I found the Cooper's had better traction ratings but somewhat less treadwear ratings. It depends on whether you want longer wear or better traction.

While I have no personal experience with the Firehawks, they do seem to make people happy from what I've read here and other forums.

I've been trying to get some first hand knowledge of the Mickey Thompson sportsman s/r radial in 255-60-15. I've used the coopers and like them for the $ but wanted something a little more sporting for the occasional autocross. Can't afford 17's right now, maybe next year.
