I've heard of tire developing flat spots from sitting months at a time; even worse if they lose any air. If they're good tires and you're away for months at a time, I'd spend 15min putting it up on stands. Or find a forum member who lives nearby to take it out once a week for ya....

It depends on how long you leave them sit. In addition to flat spots tires will begin to dry rot after awhile because they need to heat and cool to age properly

My friend who stores his '64 GTO show car for months at a time takes the tires off and puts a cheap set of beater rims with tires on the car in between uses. He got a set at a swap meet for $50 including the tires. Keeps the pressure real low on them. Not safe to drive but useful for storage. You could probably pick up a set of used steel rims and tires cheap from a Boneyard.

Yeah, & you will probably screw up something else doing that dance, like messing up the threads on the wheel studs or hammering the lug nuts, or having your wrench slip out of your hand & fly into something, if your luck is anything like mine. :smash:

I have seen a product sold the eliminates(or helps) flat-spotting. It is a sort of "carriage" each tire sits in. I think I saw it in the back of "Auto Week" magazine. :seeya
