Default Non-silicone tire dressing

I'm sure this topic has come up before. What brands of tire dressing contain no silicone? I have been advised by several sources that we should avoid silicone based dressings, but brand names are never mentioned.

The Dupont stuff is the best I've ever used - no silicon/silicone, no slinging, nice satin finish, etc. Unfortunately, it has the worst spray head I've ever used. Try some, but apply with a foam applicator (and be sure to not let any dribbles linger on polished wheels, as it will stain).

Mr. Lucky: I stopped in at an auto supply store today. I found Dupont
Tire Shine with Teflon, but on the back of the bottle it says "contains silicons. Does Dupont make a tire shine without Teflon?

Hmm... I just went out to the garage and grabbed my bottle. I read every word, and it doesn't say anything like that.

They must have changed the formulation, because even the Dupont website agrees with you. Oh crap.

Griots Rubber/Vinyl Dressing for me too. Doesn't last very long, but excellent not too glossy appearence, easy and clean to apply and won't sling off on your clothes or paint.

Default No Silicon Tire Dressing

There is a great local shop here in Des Moines called Prevettes. You can buy from their website at www.prevettes.com. I have used several of their products and love them.

Anyone got photos of tires with the Adams applied? Might be interested in some of that been using Blackmagic Gel for awhile and works great as far as not slinging but extremely shiny/wet looking.

Rick: I have read several articles in magazines devoted to our hobby that say silicone dressings are not particularly good for tire rubber. I know that it makes them shinny and nice appearing. I also know that silicone is recommended for weatherstripping to keep it from cracking.
But I guess I prefer to avoid silicone on my tires. There are several products that do not use silicone but they are hard to find.

Default Another Happy Griot's Rubber/Vinyl Dressing........

customer. I've been using their dressing for over five years with great success. They also have a longer lasting tire dressing formula that I'm going to try on my 2006 Trailblazer later this week.
