Default saved $300 on new C5 Z06 tires

I've struggled w/ spending upwards of $1,000 replacing tires on Z06 every 15K miles. Ok, there was usually screeching around Texas World Spdway in there. So I asked local dealer about putting C5 couple-sized tires on the Z06 wheels. No problem, they said. Always being skeptical, I checked several posts here. Confirmed it's not a problem.

After shopping Tire Rack, wow! Sumitumo tires for $560 with local installer!

I opted for Kumho ASX's and am thrilled w/ the quiet ride and look forward to many more miles from them. Sad to say my 'vette's a cruiser now as the expense of tires and gasoline for racing weekends is too high. I am happy that shifting tire sizes makes that cruising oh so much more affordable and quiet.

You must really drive your car hard to replace tires that often. I used to do the same but I grew out of it I guess. I still like to rip down the road but not as much as I used to.

I wish I got 15k out of a set. Certain street tires cost a fortune.
