Default Rim screws on DR's

Hi

I am strongly considering BFG DR's for my midyear with 6" bolt on KO's. Although BFG only suggests rim width as narrow as 6.5", I know of at least one midyear owner that runs this setup and is very happy with it.

However he has the rim screws installed in his and my question is, do the rim screws have to be used?. What about with street tire pressures versus track pressures.

Thanks in advance

Doug
