Default chrome lugs

my 02 z06 has chrome wheels and lug nut, my question is do I need to take any special precautions to not damage the finish on the chrome lug nuts. I've never had chrome wheels before so I just dont know what to do.

I use a regular socket, but if you are concerned, check this out... http://www.gmpperformance.com/index....ail&PID=180267

I use a regular Craftsman deep well socket.

If you ding them up after a couple of years, get a new set of McGard lug nuts:

They're about $6.75 for a 4 pack at Pep Boys, Auto Barn, etc.

There are a few places to pick up a lined socket. I know Griots Garage sells a set that has a soft lined outside. This protects the wheel in case you slip with the wrench. In my opinion its more important to protect the wheels over the lug. You can find chrome lugs for cheap, wheels are not so cheap. Just my $0.02.
