Doing a cursory check of the specs for 265/35-18s on the TireRack's website, you are at the very edge of the tire safely fitting that width wheel. I agree with jabbott that you may not get the maximum performance from the tire though.
I've anecdotally heard that an 18x10.5" wheel mounted on the front will rub at full lock. I know that is the case with a 295 tire; whether that would hold true for your contemplated size, I don't know. If you decide to do it, please let us know your experience.

We run 315/35x18s of Z06 10.5x18 rims front & rear on our 99 FRC and 04 Z06 with Kumho 710 race tires. Both cars are lowered to the limit of stock bolts. Camber is -2.3 front and -1.6 rear. They do not rub.
