Default 17 x 9.5 & 18 x 9.5 Does this work?

I just bought a set of C6 reproduction Z06 from Corvettes of Houston. I have a C5 Vert. Will this size combo work ok? If yes, what tire sizes do I need? Thanks.

Hi Iceman, just for starters I would look at:

265x40x17 for the front. (Z06 standard front C-5 size tire)

275x40x18 for the rear (standard C-5 rear size.)

Those sizes are a correct factory match for the rim width and the overall diameter will work with AH, TC, and ABS.

I think the front is exactly correct.

A 295x35x18 would be perfect as far as the correct stager is concerned for the rear but I don't know if the 295 is too large for your
9.5" rear rim width. Check with Luke at Tirerack on the rear.

Please post what you end up with.

Bob

Thanks Bob. For now I have the stock C5 sizes on these rims. The front tires are stretched a bit. It doesn't handle as good as the stock setup did.

the C5 OE front tire 245/45-17 max wheel width is 9.0" and that setup would have a detrimental effect on the cars handling .... either replace the front wheels to the proper 8.5" width or buy new front tires

Corvettes of Houston took care of it. They swapped the 17x9s for 17x8s without giving me a hard time. The car is handling much better now and I won't need to buy a new set of tires to compensate for the mismatch. Thanks to Mike and everyone at Corvettes of Houston for your help.
