Default GY 285/35/19 -vs- BFG 295/35/19

I am going from the OEM GY Eagle F1 SC EMT 285/35/19 to the BFG g-Force TA KDW2 295/35/19. I have compared the specs on Tirerack, and they are below. The GY looks big for a 285, and I know some tires are bigger than other brands of the same size. Anyone went from the GY to the BFG, which is "bigger"? These will be going on OE sized (18x8.5/19x10) CCWs on my 2006 C6. I don't want to get the BFGs if they look smaller, or more "ballooned" if that makes sense.

GY:
26.9" Dia
11.4 sec width measured on 10" rim
9.2 tread width measured on 10" rim

BFG:
27" Dia
11.9 sec width measured on 10.5" rim
