Default Re-polish factory wheels

OK, I am not happy with the way my factory thin spoke wheels look. How much of a PITA is it to strip the clear and repolish them? Can I re-clear them after they are done? Will the clear stick to the polished surface?

Thanks,

Are you doing this yourself or do you plan to send them out to be done professionally.
I got a quote from a metal polishing company that wanted $450 to do my set of 4... thats is strip and polish...
Yes they can be re cleared.

It will take you about a day a wheel to do your self.
Use a houselhold paint stripper contianing methylene chloride.. the more the better.
It will soften and lister the clear.
brush on let soak and blast off... a pressure washer works best.
IT will take several 4-6 times to get the clear stripped off... that is at last half a day with the wait time.
To polish use metal polish and a spiral stiched buffing pad attached to a cordless drill.

do a search on C5Naples... (likely now in archives) he has a how to with photos....
