Anyone run these for aggressive street driving? I'm interested in the miles you get out of them. 200miles? 2000miles? 8000miles?

Larry, all you had to do is ask! I have about 6000 miles and 8 track days on my 275/40/17 and 315/30/18 NT01s. I still have 2/32 to 3/32 left on them about enough for one track day or a few more Canyon runs. They are awesome tires for the Canyons and going to the track. After using them, I will never go back to F1 Supercars.

Thanks, George. I didn't realize you had them on your car. I think I'll give them a try.....

I prefer the 555RII's, they also have a soft compound that grips like hell, can get about 10,000 out of the rears, longer on fronts, and they are better at draining water. For the street, I'd stay away from the 01's.

Larry, If you dive you car every day I agree with Xtreme. I only drive to and from the track and do the SCMRs. I don't drive in the rain so the are perfect for me. On the side wall of the NT01s is says " Recomemded for Compition Use Only " I saw that Joel was using them on the street and I tried them and I'm very happy with the perfromance.

I agree with the above comments. I love them also but my Z is not a daily driver. I do have one complaint about them though, they don't balance very well and I had to exchange 2 of them because they bad from the factory. Has anyone else had problems?

I think the NT01 looks like a good track only tire and will give them a try when the weather improves here in Seattle on my '07 Z06. So why did you decide to use the 275/40/17 instead of the 275/35/18?

I will also purchase a set of track wheels and I have been looking at the CCW C14, though they are a little pricy. Any specific wheel suggestions?

I'm using my stock C5 Z06 Speedline rims with the 17 front, 18 back and Nitto only makes the NT01 275/17 in a 40 series. If I go with 18s all the way around I could run the 275/40/18 in front and 315/35/18 in back. This would be and ideal set up but I have not found a good deal on some 18 inch rims.

I use mine the same: just the SCMR's. If I plan to do any extensive street (non-SCMR) driving, I just put the stock wheels and tires on it.
The NT01's are looking pretty good to me.....

In trying to decide what tire/wheel sizes to use on my C6 Z06 for track use, I am getting a little confused. I decided to calculate the resulting diameter based on different tire/wheel combinations.

Goodyear F1 stock
Front: 275/35-18
Width: 10.827”
Height: 3.789”
Diameter: 25.579”
Revs/Mile: 812

Rear: 325/30-19
Width: 12.795”
Height: 3.839”
Diameter: 26.677”
Revs/Mile: 779

Toyo RA1
Front: 275/35-18
Width: 10.827”
Height: 3.789”
Diameter: 25.579”
Revs/Mile: 812

Rear: 305/35-18
Width: 12.008”
Height: 4.203”
Diameter: 26.405”
Revs/Mile: 790

Rear: 335/30-18
Width: 13.189”
Height: 3.957”
Diameter: 25.913”
Revs/Mile: 803

Nitto NT01
Front: 275/35-18
Width: 10.827”
Height: 3.789”
Diameter: 25.579”
Revs/Mile: 812

Front: 275/40-18
Width: 10.827”
Height: 4.331”
Diameter: 26.661”
Revs/Mile: 790

Rear: 315/30-18
Width: 12.402”
Height: 3.720”
Diameter: 25.441”
Revs/Mile: 819

I checked the validity of my calculations against the Goodyear published diameters of the stock tires of 25.6” front and 26.7” rear, which are both within .025” of my numbers. The tire sizes listed are from official web sites.

The car stock has the rear tire diameter 1.1” taller than the front. Using Nitto tires on 18” wheels the best you can do is the front .138” taller than the rear. The effect is only half the total difference since you only take into account half the diameter, but that still leaves a .619” (5/8”) relationship change. The Toyo tire option comes close to the stock relationship, but would it be better to use the wider/shorter tire (335/30) or the narrower/taller tire (305/35)?

Just how important is it to maintain this relationship in tire diameter front to back? If there are other specific tire manufacturers/sizes and wheel sizes to consider, please comment.

And then there is the issue of rim width…

Kentz06, the relationship is very important because the Active Handling is based upon the stock ratios. It's very important to keep these ratios to insure that Active Handling will work properly.

I think there is a percentage of variance from the stock ratio that can be used with out interfering with the AH. I know my tire ratio is 1.9% off from stock and I don't have any problems with AH throwing codes or not working properley.
