Default Widened ZO6 17" rim

Has anyone on this forum widened a pair of front ZO6 17" rim to run 315/35/17s on the back of their car?

I did this with my Ramair TA a couple years ago. I purchased a pair of 17" WS6 rims that Wheels America had cut and widened to 17" x 11.5". It looked great and worked great... but you have to run a spacer to make it fit as the extra two inches of rim go towards the rearend, not away from it.

I'm asking if anyone has done this with the ZO6 factory rims because I don't want to guess at the size spacer I would need to purchase. They're $100 a pair, and after spending $200 per wheel plus shipping, I don't want to spend money on several pairs of spacers trying to make this work.

Thanks, Bob

If you get more info on this please let me know. I was told it would run $175 per rim and that's inward like you mentioned. I wonder why they dont do outward?

If they did it outward the wheel would probably stick out a lot. By doing it inward it allows you fit the wheel properly within the wheel well using the correct adapters (spacers).

Actually it comes down to looks. I asked, because I wanted them wider on the outside.. a big lip. But, they can't dress the weld to look good enough to face outward.

BUT, a 315 would look real nice under our cars! IT did under my Trans Am!
