Default New wheel/tire setup for 03 Z06

Hey folks,

I'm thinking of some new wheels and tires for my 03 Z06.

Front: HRE 843R 18x9.5", GYE GS-D3 265/35/18
Rear: HRE 843R 18x10.5" GYE GS-D3 295/35/18

I'm not really married to the GS-D3 but those specs are about what I'm considering. Thoughts?

Alex

I loved the GS-D3's when I ran them on my WS6 TA. They were the best all around tire. I had 275//40/17's front and 315/35/17's rear. Looked great and stuck to the track.

Your tire sizes seem correct for this combo.

I used to fly the GSD3 banner, because when I had a Cobra, they were great, but I just got them for the rears on my FRC (Z06 sizes), and they are crap compared to the Pirelli Asymetricos that I had on there.

By crap, I mean the sidewalls are jello in comparison, and even changing lanes the car feels sloppy (yes, same alignment, pressure, sizes, ect). I wish I would have known the steering response was going to degrade before I bought them. I would have ponied up the extra dough for another set of Pirellis or PS2s.

I realized that the tires without much tread left would feel sharper than brand new ones, but this is too much of a difference.

No more GSD3 for me.
