Default gouge in aluminum wheels

don't know where it happened but now I have a 3 inch scratch/slight gouge in the wheel. Anyone know a way to fix this or do I need to replace it?

Ted, I have repaired several "slight scratches" in Harley Davidson side cases. I do not have experience with the Corvette wheels but I presume the scratch could be sanded and polished. I would try that before I bought a new one. Hope this helps some.

There is a place in Houston that can refurbish your wheel. I will check for their website for you. I think they charge ~$150.

If it's not deep sand it out.
Start with an aggressive sandpaper and keep stepping it down until you get to the point you can use polish.

I use a file on the worst of it, then sandpaper, then very fine sandpaper, then a fine cut cleaner from Mequire's for automotive paint.

I had a deep one that is pictured in my Ebay ad below. It is not perfect, but not an obvious eye sore now. Most less severe gouges can be smoothed out to where you hardly notice.
