Default 305/35-18 on a 10" rim??

I am looking to go wider on the rear of my 69 with flares. I currently have 285/40-18's and they look "narrow", by that I mean the sidewalls of the tires go in to the foot print of the tire. So wasl ooking at what was availabe to go wider that wasn't drastically smaller in overall height.
Thoughts?

Nick

It could also be the tire
Some tires run wider than others, but I would say a 305 should be ok for a 10" wheel
