Default Goodyear EMT or ROF .... a brief note

What's the difference between Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 EMT (Extended MobilityTechnology) tires and Eagle F1 GS-D3 RunOnFlat (ROF) tires?

Only their name!

Goodyear has begun the global process of changing the identity of their self supporting run-flat tires from Extended Mobility Technology to RunOnFlat.

Their research indicates the new RunOnFlat name better describes a self supporting run-flat tire's capabilities to consumers than the earlier Extended Mobility Technology name.

While Goodyear already has other RunOnFlat tires in Europe, the first examples arriving in the United States are the Eagle F1 GS-D3 RunOnFlat tires in the sizes for the Ferrari F430 Coupe & Spider, as well as the Maserati Quattroporte.

Maserati Quattroporte
Front 245/40R19 94Y
Rear 285/35R19 99Y

Ferrari F430 Coupe & Spider
Front 225/35R19 (84Y)
Rear 285/35R19 (99Y)

While Goodyear's name conversion will take some time, expect to see other RunOnFlat tires used as Original Equipment in the near future.

Goodyear's RunOnFlat tires are only recommended for vehicles that were originally fitted with self-supporting run-flat tires and equipped a tire pressure monitoring system.

Only took 'em about ten years to figure that out, eh?
Must be a real crowd of geniuses over there!

But as always, thanks for the info, Luke.
