Default Quietest, best riding runflats for C5?

Comments on which of the runflats are the quietest and have the best ride?

I just got my "new" '02 today and totally loved it but for the original tires, which are noisy as heck on anything but a glass-smooth surface.

We're looking at a big trip Out West that will cover some very desolate places so I want to stick with runflats for now.

The Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP RFT is the best runflat available

Curious as to why you believe it to be better than the Michelin Pilot RFT.

the Michelin is an all-season tire which by design sacrifices dry and wet grip to go through light snow .... and also when driven hard (AutoX or Track day) they overheat very easily then get greasy and chunk out .....

Tire Rack's description of this tire (SZ50 EP RFT) makes it sound like an excellent rain tire, but how about strickly dry performance?

We had the SZ50's on our C5 until we traded the car, we agree with Luke. There is no perfect tire, but the Firestones were quieter & smoother than the originals. Dry and wet traction seemed better. I autocrossed on them a fair amount and did pretty well, no unusual wear.
