Default Nitto RII vs Nitto Drag Radial

How much difference is there between these two tires in straight line hookup??? I know the RII is better for HPDE events which I attend. But how much difference will I see off the line??

Size is 305 X 35 X 18

But there is no comparison in cornering ........ took the RII's to the canyon and could not have done the carving I did with the drags.

I don't think anybody but you and me give a hoot.......

If you run the lower psi on the straight line the drags will hook better since they give more in the side walls and then launch you. The RII's have pretty much the same sticky compound but you don't get the lauch like you do with drags since the side walls are stiffer.

How much time do you lose with RII's? No idea but I wouldn't think that much unless you are talking about some really hard launches with a lot of power under the hood.

My 2 cents...

I got on them pretty good tonight......they stay connected to the pavement almost as good as the drags. I only had the drags on for a couple of weeks. These R2's are awsome......except they are scarry in the rain.

Yeah I have the R2's on as well. I would take these over DR's anyday for street racing. They hook great but damn they don't last as long as I would like. I'm probably going to go with something different next time.

R2's on all four is the way to go too. It's amazing the corning your car will do with these tires.

About how many miles do you think the R2s will last?

Mine? Fronts will last ~8k and rears will last hopefully 4-5k miles...All depends on how you drive but I don't think more than 8k miles on the back is very realistic or safe.
