Default Pictures wanted: 275 or 285 on 10.5"

Hi,

I'll go for the 2001 Z06 wheels and need new tires (EAGLE F1 GS-D3).
I'm not sure if a 275/35 R18 or a 285/35 R18 would fit the 10.5 wide wheel and does look good, too.
I only found pictures with a 295/35 R18 ...

I'd like to use 275/40 R17 on the front and 275/35 R18 on the rear.

best wishes
Eike

NOt sure why you want to go with such a narrow tire on the rear.
You are obviously going pretty wide up front, so why not go wider in the rear.
If you are using OEM size Z06 wheels then the 18's will be 10.5" wide and will easily take the 295/35 AND they'd be a nice match for the 275/40 fronts.
Now to actually answer your question. The 275/35 and/or the 285/35 tire WILL fit the rear wheel you mention, BUT the 275 may be just a bit too narrow for it.
I do strongly suggest the 295/35 on the rear 18x10.5 Z06 wheel.

And for the record, the OEM Z06 sizes are as follows:

Wheel......................Tire
Front 17x9.5.............265/40x17
Rear 18x10.5.............295/35x18

Hi,

the stock sizes on my '91 are 275/40 R17 on 9.5 wheels for front and rear.
I'd like to have only a little difference between the diameters.
Here in Germany, a 275/35 R18 cost $186 shipped, the 285/35 R18 $272 and I can't get the 295 one.

This is a 275/40 R17 on 9.5" compared to 11" ... that's what it should not look like:

Sounds like you would have been better off with 17x9.5" Z06 wheels all around. I don't see any benefit to using a 275/35/18 tire on those wheels other than price. You would want a 295 section tire for increased traction. I have the stock Z06 17/18 combo with 275/40/17 up front and 295/35/18 out back.

Your eye will not differentiate between a 275, a 285, and a 295 tire on the same width rim looking from the side. There is less than one inch difference between the 275 and the 295.

Here is a 275/35/18 BFG dr on a 10.5 repo..........works fine and drives fine on the road

Just a little short for a full time tire/wheel IMHO
