Default Kumho ECSTA MX XRP Question

I'm in need of my 3rd set of tires for my 2002 C5. The original GYs lasted me 28k miles. I tried the Michelin Pilots ZP for my second set and I got 27k miles out of those.

I'm thinking of trying the Kumho run flats this time. I don't drag race or do track days but I do light them up occassionally on the street and I guess you could call me a spirited driver. I'm staying with the runflats because it is a daily driver and I take my daughter to school a lot.

I like the price, but I am wondering how many miles I can expect to get based on my previous two sets.

I put a set on in August of 05, but only have around 4,000 miles on them, they look good so far. Oh, it is my wife's car and she does not spin them. They are a hell of a lot quieter than GYs. I know this does not answer your question, but at least you know somebody else got a set of Kumhos.

Default quieter

Are they just quieter because they are new or are they just a more quiet tire?

I only have experience with the non run flat MX's

They are wonderfull tires for spirited driving, but compare the UTOG wear ratings with other similar tires.

I only get about 20,000 miles on my MX's....but they are wonderfull miles of not worrying about turns

For around town driving, they may not have the life you want
