Default HRE's to Iforged

I have the Aero's and may upgrade to the 545's because I need a wider tire but is the price difference worth it?

From what I've been told, they use the same forging company and the same finishers, at least as far as clearcoat goes. I looked at both company's products at SEMA, and I think HRE may have some better and more artistic designs, as far as where and how the rivets are placed.

After receiving my new set of IForged wheels three days ago (my second set from these guys), I could see that the attention to detail was lacking. There was quite a bit of either welding material or powder coat residue on the outer polished lip. I was able to get just about all of it with Mother's Billet Polish, but I seriously doubt that would have made it through QC on an HRE wheel.

I really don't think that I should have had to put in three hours of careful polishing on a $3000 set of wheels. I could have sent them back, but based on their customer service reputation, I probably did a better (more careful) job of making them right than they would have. They look great on the car and the offsets were right, so I guess I should at least be grateful for that.

I guess it depends on how important the money is to you. iForged isn't really all that cheap anymore. I paid more for this set of wheels than my last and I didn't even get the brushed finish, the rivets, or the ceramic coating. If I ever decided to change wheels, I don't think I'd go with iForged again. I'd try someone else. Kinesis maybe...they have some nice designs and I've heard good things about their quality.

I looked long and hard for a nice 5 spoke design and chose the 545s because of the detail, nice clean lines, radius on corners were nice and I wanted a proven wheel that I can take being raced. I have put 10K hard miles on mine w/o issue drag racing, autoxing and road racing

Atleast Z06 size, I need traction 19x9.5 with 20x12.5 or even 13's. Not sure what tires yet though. Any opinions out there?

If you want traction, you don't want 19 or 20's. Stick to 18's. Much better tire selection there. Unless you tub your car, anything over 11" wide is going to stick out past the quarter panel. Do some homework on this and figure out what direction you want to go in. Namely, are you looking for straight line traction, for drag racing, or are leaning towards street driving/road racing, where turning and braking are involved?
