Anyone know anything about these tires... my local mom and pop tire shop highly recommend these tires, they sponsor several autocross cars that are running these. Prices are under $200 each. These would go on my 2000 coupe.
I've had good luck with normal Cooper tires (no quality problems). And since the company is Cooper-Avon now-a-days... maybe some of the Avon race technology trickled down into the performance tires.

I narrowed my search down to the Falken 451, Nitto 555, and these Cooper Zeon 2XS. I have been searching for feedback on these as well for my car. I can get the zeons for the least $ of the 3. But I am mostly concerned with mileage, quietness, and wet handling. The zeons have a similar tread pattern to the pilot sport. Here are some specs:
COOPER ZEON 2XS
UTQG: Tread Wear 280, Traction AA, Temp A
SIDEWALL:Blackwall
Performance
Rating: W
Tapered tread:
Deep tread in center, shallower on shoulders, resulting in less weight and improved handling.
Double shoulder tread element:
Shoulder tread block is divided into two harmonically mated segments, causing less noise frequency and quiter ride.
Optimized tire profile:
Slightly rounded mold profile balances wet traction and long tread life.
