Default C3 period vette mags

Hey guys,

My father has just purchased a 69 vert to which he will be restoring to an L88/ZL1 spec car. He is about to buy the fender flares etc etc etc and i was wondering whereabouts i could find period correct wheels for the car? does anyone reproduce those style of wheels? i know they have repros of race knock-offs but that just would not suit!

Thanks guys!

I would suggest American Racing "Torque-Thrust D" wheels. 8.5" wide in the front, and 10" in the rear. Watch out for inside clearance on the trailing arms in the rear. Vette Brakes and Products make special rear trailing arms that are offset for more clearance, if necessary.

Many of the "mail order" speed shops such as Summit Racing or Jegs carry the wheels.

The "correct" factory wheels are just the 15x8 slotted stock wheels with the chrome trim rings and center caps that are available in the Vette accessory catalogs, JEG's or Summit Racing. Getting those mail-ordered to Australia may be another issue tho

Popular aftermarket wheels in the late 60's were the American Racing Torq-Thrust "D" and Torq-Thrust "II" as well as the Cragar S/S wheel.

American Racing makes the Torq-Thrust II wheel in custom offsets and backspacing so you could have a wheel made to fit the car if you intend to use larger tires. It's model CL205RWD on their website.

Here's a couple of links regarding the L88 car
