Default Luke, I have a question about non-run flat tires..............

Hello Luke,

I have a 2004 C5 and after doing some research on this forum I have found that you believe that the "Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP RFT" is the best runflat tire for the C5 but I am also considering installing non-runflat tires on my Vette. Our C5 is a Daily Driver for the most part so tread wear is a concern for me as well as wet/dry traction and ride comfort.

I would love to have a max performance tire with great tread wear, excellent wet/dry traction and awesome ride comfort but I know that is pretty much impossible. I assume that you would have to make compromises somewhere.

My question is: What non-runflat tire would you say is the best all around tire for a C5 used as a daily driver?

Thanks

the Eagle F1 GS-D3 will come very close to meeting your needs .... that's the way to go if you want a non-runflat tire

Thank you Luke

I did notice that the Eagle F1 GS-D3 does have a higher tread wear rating than most of the comparable tires in it's class, plus the tread design looks pretty cool

Thanks again for your help. I will give you a call when I am ready to place my order

Jack, I put the F1 GS-D3 Goodyears on my 2004 coupe within two weeks of buying it. I love them and they have been everything I wanted, and meet most of what you want. I also bought them through the Tire Rack and that is the only way to go.
