Default lightest Z06 wheels?

which year Z06 wheels are the lightest or strongest?, I thought the 03's were better cause there speedlines, but who made the 01's? ect... any info would be great, looking for the best performance...

The '01s were forged and made by Alcoa. the '02-04 were spun cast and made by Speedline. The '01s are probably stronger and definitely a little heavier, about 9 oz I believe. I don't think you'll be able to tell the difference because it is such a small change in weight.

darn, thats 1 person telling me there lighter and 1 telling me there heavier.... I need to know by tomorrow if anybody could help me out for sure, I'll try and do some more research...

I can assure you that the Speedlines are lighter than the Alcoas. I've held both in my hands and can tell the difference.

SSR Competition ...

17X9.5 = 16.8 lbs.
18X10.5 = 19.8 lbs.

could you be less detailed....... ssr competition, is that a style wheel?, what does that stand for?

SSR = Speed Star Racing
Competition = wheel model


it's an aftermarket wheel. I responded before reading the entire question .....

I have a set of the 4 original "forged" 01 Z06 wheels. They are coming off my original 01 Z. Any interest? They would make great track day rims. Set of 4 $500. They do have some curb rash.

How much are a set of those wheels ? They look nice, and I have have never seen a set on a vette.I have a Black 99 FRC and thought they would look good on it .

01s are heavier but at being only a matter of ounces i dont think it will effect performance

well, i'm pretty much just interested in finding out what "some curb rash" means
is it just cosmetic scraping or are we talking heavy gouges around the whole perimiter
