I have a 69 smallblock with those 8x15 aluminum rims from later c-3 cars. I would like to use them for now to keep the cost down. My question is what somewhat sticky tires are available currently? I am running 245x60x15s el-crapos and that seems to be the largest that will fit. I don't think 255s will behind the brake cable. What are my options with and without moving the brake cable from rear swing arm?

I found only BFG 235x60x15 drag radials available.

Any help would be appreciated.

PS: my new motor will be a 383 with around 420HP and I will need to stick much better but want mainly street driving tires.

I have been down the same path with my74R........I gave up on trying to get decent tires in 15" sizes, put on 17" rims and couldnt be happier.....surprisingly,there are better tires in 15" for drag racing than there are in 17",so when i want to drag,I put the 15s back on......john :chevy

I would like to stick with the 15 " rims. But now I can't even find the BFG 235x60x15s. HELP! What can I use at this point? Is there any tire
that would at least be fairly decent on the street?

thanx all :smash:

If I were to have the rear brake bracket moved on top of the swing arm do you think 275 x 50 x 15 s would fit with my stock alum 8 x 15 rims and no rubbin??
