I would like to know the advantages of the Z06 SC tire vs. the KD's and vice versa.

Thanks,

Good question. I was wondering myself. I have the Pilots, KD's or the SC's in mind.

I can really only speak for the BFG KDs, but they are amazing tires. They aren't the quietest, longest lasting or cheapest but they are the best handling tire I have ever driven on. I do not have many problems keeping up to race tire guys on an autox.

I feel the GY Super Car tires are designed more as an all weather tire since they do come standard on the Z06. I don't think an OEM would release a car with tires that only work REALLY good on dry pavement such as the KDs.

So basically, if you want an awesome dry traction tire that you won't drive in the rain too often, go with the KDs. If you want a quieter tire that has excellent handling and decent wet traction, I would recommend the Pilot Sports and then the GY Supercar tires.

Well, my choices are actually narrowed down for my 95 ZR1 as I will go with the G-force KD's if I stay with stock sizes and rims (315 rear).

Otherwise, I will get new rims to be able to fit 335's on the rear which would give me the choices of Michelin Pilot Sport tires or the Goodyear Fiorano F1 Supercar (not the Z06 tires) but they are REAL expensive!

I found out that the G-year Supercar (Z06) tires are not avail. in the 315 or 335.

Oh well, choosing between the KD's and Michelins Sports is a good decision to "have" to make

Matt G & Duntov-097,

Thanks for the feedbac. If I decide to stay with my polished stock rims, I will go with the KD's.

It sounds like both of you have super sweet rides!!!
