Default Firestone Wide Ovals Z06 on C5 Rims

I just ordered Z06 size Firestones from Tire Rack. They performed well. Delivered, the tires were under $700 and I had them installed by a mobile installer located here in Scottsdale. He installed the four tires on the vette, plus a new tire on my Denali and rotated the existing tires so that the new pair was up fornt on that car. Cost me $112 for 5 tires mounted, balanced, etc. Fast and easy and a Tire Rack recommendation. Thank you again, Tire Rack.

So, I was excited to see if these wide ovals make a difference - the answer is a resounding yes. The car handles beautifully, hooks up under WOT and is quiet - very quiet. My run flats had 33000 miles on them and were well worn. They served the car well, but I will not go back. I now carry a repair kit, compressor and folding jack - plus a AAA card.

I don't know how long these Firestones will be on special, but they look good, have a bigger paw print, and are very nice indeed at any price. At this sale price they are a phenomenal deal. I will let all know how they wear as I put on mileage.

Luke,

All the tires on the Denali are good. They needed to be rotated as I do every 7500 miles. A a failure on the right rear caused me to replace that tire. GM provides a steel wheel 16 inch as a spare, so I purchased another matching Denali wheel and then purchased another 17 inch Michelin from you guys at the same time I ordered the vette tires because I wanted a 17 inch spare. Then I rotated the tires as it was time to put the fronts in back and vice versa. I now have a very nice 17 inch Michelin as a spare and my rotation is pretty much on schedule. There is not a lot of difference among all 4 tires as far as wear goes.

You installed Z06 size tires on your C5 rims? According to the tire rack website they are not recommended for your width of rims.

265/40 WR17 = rim width range of 9"-10" and your C5 rims are 8.5"

295/35 WR18 = rim width range of 10"-12" and your C5 rims are 9.5"

I hope you do not run into any problems with this
