Default 01 Z06 tire size question

I have a 2001 Z06 and am frustrated with the limited choices for tires. In particular, few manufacturers seem to have offerings for the front 265/40-17s. I'm toying with trying something oversized on the front, but wonder what others on the forum have tried. I'm guessing another 5-10 mm on the front would be ok, but I am concerned about rubbing etc. What have you folks experienced?

to mkae your tire selection much easier ..... run a 275/40-17 in front it fits fine and you have many more selections that way

I agree. Plenty of guys run that size w/o any problems.

not nearly as much ... the 275/295 combo is the best way to go because it does offer better handling and still have the wider rear to reduce throttle induced oversteer and reduced understeer when compared to the 265 front tire

The new Firestone Wide Oval comes in OEM size and is a much better performance tire than the supercar F-1. Also much much better than the Michelin PS. I have worn all three and I swear by the W/Os for track or street.
