I have a 99 C5 and i am looking to pick up some ccw rims and tires. What is the ballpark price for the wheels and tires?

Thanks

depending on the size you can spend $2500-4000 new. depending on condition and whether you get a good tire with them you can pay $2000-3500.

Assuming the $2500-4000 is for wheels alone (that sounds about right), and the $2000-3500 is for tires alone....what kind of tires are you looking at???!!!

I bought a package deal with HRE wheels and Kumho MX tires last year for about $4300, if this helps.

Most track guys run 17 inch tires because all the race tire companies make these size tires for the Corvette, and this is the lightest setup with the most choice of tires. They fit perfectly over everything but front "big brakes." I have two full sets of CCWs (as well as my Mallett wheels for street) and I would like to change one set of CCWs to 18s all around. Problem is, the second (new) set is a hybrid which some consider a "hot set up" for autocross: 18x11 F, 17x12 R with Hoosier AX tires (year-old AS03s with a total of 8 sixty-second runs on them). Sizes are 305/18s and 335/17s. I really don't do AX any more.

What I want to do is sell the 17" rears (I already have a full set of 17s) and get two new 18/12s for the rear so I can run Goodyear slicks on the second set of wheels for the track.

I am willing to entertain any reasonable offer for the clean & new condition 17x12 CCW "classic" 3-piece forged wheel, black anodized centers) with or without the almost new (but year old) Hoosiers. The front 305/18 Hoosiers in the same condition are also available (without the wheels for reasons above). Email me at malletvette@comcast.net if you are interested. Regards, Robert

(edit to add - I'm thinking of $800 for the wheels and $300 for the tires, share shipping if out of my area - Maryland/DC/VA).
