Default lightest wheel/tire combo for the street?

Just wondering what you think is the lightest wheel tire combo for the street in 17 and 18 inch sizes?

I was thinking a non runflat tire
No tire pressure sensors
Four 17 inch magnesium rims all around or 4 polished/painted thin spokes all the way around.

Right now I am running runflats and wagon wheels. I'd love to save 20-30 pounds rotating weight off the car.

fronts would be 245's rears would be 275/40/17 or a 285/35/18 depending on what I go with.

Suggestions greatly appreciated!

I put 18" OEM Mag rims all around with 275/35 & 295/35s.......tire/wheel weight combo is
OEM MAG 18 x 9.5 w/ new Yoko 295/35-18 AVS sport non-runflats 50
OEM MAG 18 x 8.5 w/ new Yoko 275/35-18 AVS sport non-runflats 46

Thanks for the information!

Luke I looked on tirerack for those rims. Are you referring to the comp H?

Is that weight wheel only?

wouldn't the Dymag magnesium or C5 magnesium wheels be as light as you can get by a lot?

Actually, if you're concerned about $$, I would pick up a used set of OEM Y2k style forged rims - cheap here on the forum. These are very light - within fractions of a pound of the magnesium wheels, and will hold up to abuse better. Add a set of non-runflats, and you're good to go.

You can pick up a good set of mags 17/18 or all 18 for $250 ea a wheel or less. They will hold up to lots-o-abuse....... we have over 41K hard miles on them w/o issue and thats drag racing, auto-xing, road racing and cross country driving...all designed & built by Speedline
But don't buy any........more for me!
